‘HOWLET’, TIPTOE RETREAT, NORTHUMBERLAND
Sited on the banks of the River Till near Berwick Upon Tweed, ‘Howlet’ is carefully positioned within the trees to take advantage of the spectacular, elevated views over part of North Northumberland’s beautiful landscape. Accessed by a timber bridge, the wheelchair accessible cabin opens out onto a south facing external deck with glazed balustrade and an external bath. Stilts raise the building above the natural ground, and the simple material palette of timber cladding and exposed timber structure and glass is completed by a grass roof.
‘BROCK’, TIPTOE RETREAT, NORTHUMBERLAND
Located next to ‘Howlet’ cabin, ‘Brock’ has a distinctive saw-tooth roof and with timber boarded wall finish internally and externally. The kitchen/dining/living area and bedroom with its ‘star-gazing’ rooflight above the bed open out onto a south facing deck with glazed balustrade.
LEGBOURNE
Bespoke holiday let cabins sensitively set within the rural countryside of Lincolnshire. The layout of the site is guided by analysis of the existing site including its topography, orientation, access/routes, views, sense of enclosure/exposure, existing landscape and built elements. The existing fish farm breeding ponds are re-purposed as natural bathing ponds, wildlife ponds and a private fishing pond.
BECKSIDE FARM, LINCOLNSHIRE
We have been working with our Client to enhance an existing permission on a site in Lincolnshire for holiday cabins and shepherds huts. The existing landscape strategy involves significant tree planting, the creation of wildlife ponds and informal routes for pedestrians through the site.
